Membership is more than just belonging. By becoming a Baobab member, you gain free access to all of our educational programs and social events, saving more than $45 annually compared with single program registration fees.

Annual membership fee:
$150 (adult)
$100 (18 and younger, and students with valid ID)

  • Free access to all 6 social events (valued at $15 each) per year:
    • Our fun-filled Harlem Rent Party (held in February to honor the 1920's African-American tradition of the Harlem Renaissance
    • Our two (2) exciting African cultural events featuring cuisine, music, storytelling or guest speakers from different Afro-Caribbean countries
    • Our three (3) book club and literary mixers that feature guest poets and lots of entertainment
  • Receive special invitations to meet artists, featured speakers and our exclusive coffee hours
  • Receive a 30% discount on our use-of-space fees
  • Become eligible to be profiled in our newsletter "Spotlight!"
  • Participate in molding the programs for the center and help facilitate our events
  • 65% of your membership fee will be a tax-deductible contribution

Trimester fee (January-April, May-August, or September-December):
$35 (adult)
$25 (18 and younger, and students with valid ID)

Families receive a 25% enrollment discount. Your registration fee covers participation in all 24 educational program events at no extra charge.

Note: Registration fees for services provided during each educational event are not tax-deductible, and cumulative registration fees do not give access to membership privileges mentioned above or special events.

Donations

Donor-advised gifts enable us to target specific groups of individuals such as hard-to-reach youth in low-income communities by waiving enrollment fees. We appreciate your support.
